Since the early 80’s coaching has been established as a technique in human resource development. Nowadays coaching is an accepted instrument of career development used by top managers through to middle management. The higher a client is positioned in the occupational hierarchy the more likely coaching by an external coach is necessary. Since internal power structures often bring in-house coaches in conflicts of interest.
